I wasn’t happy when my mom told me that I couldn’t have the dress I wanted for prom last year. In fact, I ended up throwing a fit, which was embarrassing. Mom told me I had $150 to spend, and I thought it was impossible, but luckily I went on the web ’cause my friend Michelle told me that I could even find prom dresses under $100.
Now, I’m not overweight, and I thought I was going to have to find some ugly dress made for plus size girls, but thankfully, no. Not to be rude, but I wanted a nice looking dress and not some splotchy colored reject from 5 years ago. I have to look good for my boyfriend, right? Some of the places I looked had all the cool dresses for $200 and up, and I was getting discouraged, when I found a couple of sites with under $100 prom dresses.
I ended up choosing a sheer, frilly-looking thing in February of last year, and when I went to order it, the company said it was sold out! Now I was really getting depressed and desperate. I begged my mom to up my limit to $200, but she refused, telling me that my hair, limo, and all that stuff would probably cost $500 or more with everything. Even though I promised her I’d work it off, I don’t think she was listening, and stuck me to my budget.
It took another week of searching the stores and looking online, and I finally figured out that I needed to call the companies and check on the specific dresses I was looking to buy to see if they were in stock. At the end, I found another nice one that came in just below what I was able to afford, and I snatched it up in mid February. I can’t believe that girls buy these dresses so early on! I mean, prom isn’t even until April here.
Anyway, it turns out that I ended up looking pretty hot in my dress, I must say. My mom was happy, my dad was oblivious, and compared to a couple of my friends, I actually ended up saving about 300 bucks by looking for prom dresses under $100 and sticking to my guns – well, actually my mom’s pocketbook guns.

Kids love to copy people – let’s face it that’s how you learn. One thing my kids are always on at me for are bikes, cars and quads. It certainly does not help the line of work I’m in! To get them started off safely I would always recommend getting them an electric ride on bike, scooter or car. The Fisher Price Smart Cycle is an indoor action game for children ages 3 to 6. It combines physical movement (pedaling) with video gaming and learning programs. Setup is easy, and requires 4 D batteries and a Phillips head screwdriver. The Fisher Price Smart Cycle includes cables that plug into the television like a video console, the stationary bike with adjustable seat, and a “learning adventure” software package that emphasizes numbers, letters, shapes, and other preschool level learning games.
To play, a child plugs the system into the television, hops on the bike, and pedals. His pedaling moves a car onscreen, and as he progresses, he catches letters or numbers or otherwise has a learning related task to do. Other game cartridges are available with learning games that feature preschool favorites like SpongeBob Squarepants, Barbie, Dora the Explorer, and Hot Wheels. There is also a joystick on the bike, and if the child gets tired, she can “pull off” the road and play a video game using the joystick. Parents like the fact that kids are at least getting some physical activity while playing a video game, and the fact that bad weather won’t keep kids from physical activity. The adjustable seat is handy for households with children of different sizes.
Parents report that the lack of an AC adapter is one of their biggest gripes because the system goes through expensive D batteries fairly rapidly. The video is blocky, and there have been problems with the cartridges simply not working after awhile. However, it is an opportunity to reinforce concepts that preschoolers are learning, and it gets kids some physical exercise they might not get unless the family has a Wii system.

This is the most entertaining crib entertainer there is. The animals rotate and the leaves open and close. There are lots of nice bright colors for the baby to enjoy. The music buttons are very nice with two different volume settings. The music that plays is sort of classical music that is very calm and nice. The baby is not supposed to be calm from the music and it really works. This is the number one baby crib toy.
2 – Sassy 24-Piece Lively Links
We tested these links with our 3 months old baby and she really loves them. The best thing about them is that you can always bring them along. Wherever you go they come handy like in the car, stroller, crib and on the mat. It’s a very inexpensive crib toy that gives so much joy. This is a must have for any new parent.

This is our number 3 baby crib toy and this toy is hard to not love. All babies seem to really love them. It is maybe not for the smallest babies but when they get around 6 months they will love this toy. It will become a snuggly pet that always will help the baby to feel comfort at night.
